First, they must open completely flat. You can roll these up or even bend them back on themselves without bursting the spines. That makes\u00a0them handy for use while in a crowded bus or at a restaurant table.<\/p>\n<p>The covers are laminated sheets of mulberry\u00a0paper. (Laminated is\u00a0a fancy word for &#8220;glued together.&#8221;) They retain flexibility and \u00a0strength while managing to look\u00a0pretty nice too.
